Letter from Mercy

This is my first letter from Mercy, age 10, one of the "Kenya 7"

3/7/15

Dear Beverly Sykes,

Hallow [sic] Sykes.  I greet you in Jesus name from Kenya.  In Kenya there is no rain.

Last year I work hard and I was promoted to class five and I was happy.  I go to Sunday School and I pray for you.  Read Isaiah 41:6 (They helped every one his neighbor; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage.)

My grandmother is called Ann Sigira and I am happy.  I have never heard of a blizzard.  Thank you for giving me many gifts.  God bless you.

I know I am special when God died for my sins and also be Compassion child.  Alone in our home pray for me and greet you friends.

Letter from Josphat

Dear Beverly Sykes,

Receive greetings from your sponsored child Josphat.

He says that he is doing well in school and that he is now in 5th grade.

He says that he is putting more effort in school and he wants you to know that he always does his homework in time.

At home he says his parents are doing well and in good health, and he says that he prays that you are doing well too.

Josphat says that his favorite game is soccer, and he asks what about your favorite game?

He finally says thank you for sponsoring him and he says God bless you.

Bye, he says.

Letter from Lovson

2/28/15

Dear Beverly Sykes,

I greet you in Jesus' name.  How are you and your family?  My family and I are very well.  What is your weather like there?  It's very hot here.

My project will take us to a camp at Easter.

I've not heard about the "bowling."  The people helping my community are scouts, brigands and the police.  Yes, I usually find people to give me letters and gifts like my mom and dad.  There are veterinarians taking care of animals where I live.

Thanks for the nice photos.  I was glad to get them and I appreciated them.  I was glad to hear from you and ask you to pray to God to help me and preserve my life on my way to the camp.  Pray that I'll always progress in my studios.

God bless you abundantly!

Love,

Letter from Briana

June 10, 2014

Dear Beverly Sykes,

Hello!  I feel happy to write you this letter.  I hope that you and your family are fine, thanks to god.  How are you, your family and your activities?  As for me, I am not very well because I was sick.  I got a fever and rheumatism.  I saw a doctor and I am under treatment.  I feel good to write you this letter.

In answer to your questions, yes, I sneeze especially when I get flu and cough.  My birthday has already ended; I had a nice party but it was not grandiose.  What about yours?  Have you ever sneezed?  How do you celebrate your birthday with your faioy?  Please pray for me so I can have more patience just like Solomon and that I can be intelligetn like the three men Shadrack, Meshach and Abednego.  Please pray for my schooling and temperance.  I will be praying so that God can bless you abundantly.

Letter from Leniel

Leniel (age 8) sends a form letter about his Christian learning:

January 23. 2015

In my project I am learning about God.

My favorite Bible story is Jesus birth.

My favorite thing I learned about Jesus is about his love.

My favorite Bible verse is John 3:16 [For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.]

Hello dear sponsor Beverly Sykes,

How are you doing in Christmas?  I went to the park and had fun and ate a lot with my family, siblings and friends.  My father took me to his home and I had a very good time. How do you spend Christmas there?  I ask you to pray for me that God may continue to help me.

Letter from Samuel

Dear Beverly Sykes,

"How are you my sponsor, Beverly Sykes" asks Samuel.  "I have been performing better in my school academic work and also in family daily chores and church activities," says Samuel.

Samuel says that he is putting all the efforts into his academic work and in community activities like helping in communal work.  He says he is active in choir, where he attends Sunday School.

He says recently he received an award for being the most disciplined pupil at his class.  The only thing he admires is the bowling game that he likes, but had no chance to play. [I sent him pictures of going bowling with Brianna]

Samuel wishes you all the best.  He says may God bless you very much.
