Janet is a twenty-nine-year-old married woman with two children, living
in Kasese, Uganda. She sells cosmetics and she started the business
after realizing that the meager salary that she earns as a teacher can
hardly meet her family's needs. Inadequate capital and the high cost of
rent are her major challenges, while her dream is to trade in wholesale.
Janet intends to use the loan to buy cosmetics to sell.
I chose this loan because my Compassion daughter Shallon recently gave up a year of education, preparing to be a teacher, because she needed to earn money to help her sister, who was sick...so she went into the cosmetics business. I felt Janet needed encouragement. (And Shallon will return to her studies to be a teacher)
